Whatcom County has roughly 500 organized Boards and Commission opportunities on which to serve. At any given time, there are several open positions. I ask that you think about how you can serve your community and the cause of freedom that we all fight for.
We look at the state of our nation and our economy; we rally for our president and his followers. We can’t help but see socialism and damn near communism in their ranks. However, as we have just had our national banquet here at CAPR, I see that the belief our present leadership holds has been with us since the start of the country. I have been reading “The Noblest Triumph,” by Tom Bethell which is about property and prosperity. We see, through his recollection of history, the desire of man to be free; but, we also see the easy power of the socialist thought to restrain it. That is, until the opportunity of a “new” continent was thrust into world consciousness in the 1600′s. The obvious moral of the story leaps from the pages as one reads of the challenges that were overcome.
Our Nation suffers fools and thieves, as we who know better wonder how such travesties can be happening.
As I continue to be involved in CAPR (now going on my third year as president of the Whatcom County chapter) a truth reveals itself. Those members of society whom are freedom-respecting are still absent from our local Government. Why? Now, to be fair, a few of you have come forward to serve, and I thank you, but we need more. Where are they? What is holding them back? I see and hear from many who are philosophically suited to serve, but, from what I have found, they have a shallowness of knowledge in their beliefs. The rich history of the struggle of freedom, and the cost paid to remain free, has been relegated to a basic belief in many, but they do not know the story, or it has been years since they quested for knowledge. They remain oblivious of the passion it takes to remain free. They know it in their souls, but they are too weak in spirit to step forward. How many of you feel these words? As I write these, I think of my own weakness and once again resolve myself to the hard work of maintaining my passion; this quest to see America return to her former greatness. Can I get an Amen?
I ask each of you who care about, know about, and who understand the basics of liberty, to break through the apathy that now ensnares you. Read Tom Bethell’s book; make a pledge to spend four-hours-a-week learning. How? You’ll have to seek and pray for the wisdom of how.
Join CAPR or the Tea Party, get involved in the Northwest Business Club. Engage; be willing to find places, the people, and the ideas that once again move your spirit.
Property rights are your basic foundation for freedom. Outside of eternal matters, this is where your life and future reside. Right now, I see so many good people engaged in worthy causes, but their priorities are confused. Raising money to save or fund a project, or spending all your time reading and fellowshipping in places where all gather and end up discussing the weather, is not getting the job done. Seek and prioritize. Don’t be dissuaded by the complexity of government and the mindless ramblings of bureaucrats. There is much good to be done by staying laser focused on “property rights,” seen through traditional eyes. The laws and codes are constructed to not restrict. It is only agenda and lack of a free people that keeps us from returning to “original intent.” The agenda-driven progressive has used our apathy and lack of leadership to build a smoke screen.
However, the progressive element is now in their end game, they are running out of moves and deceptions, they have far out-run their cover; at last, we can all see that the emperor has no clothes! Only the media and narcissistic politicians like Obama and Gregoire and the rabble they are surrounded with still think the lie is in place and still valid. Much like the propaganda minister of Iraq, talking “victory” as US tanks were one block away, we all watched on Television at the obvious lie. Our progressive/socialist leadership is in the final stages, just like Baghdad Bob. All we need to do is reassert our selves, brush up on property rights, brush up on the constitution, and let our politicians and friends know that we intend to return to freedom.
It is last minute notice, but on Tuesday, March 13th, stop in at the Conservation District and vote for Larry Helm. He, and his wife Sharon, are some of the people who are stepping forward. The least you can do is step forward to support them. This is a one day only deal, this Tuesday–today. Get out there and Vote!
Yours in service,
Ron Reimer, President
Whatcom County Citizens’ Alliance for Property Rights.
